Junior Golf

Welcome to another exciting year of Junior Golf at Kemper Lakes Golf Club!

The staff at Kemper Lakes is very exited about Junior Golf. Through incorporating the PGA Junior Golf League as a model for our instructional programming, it is our mission to make Kemper Lake's Junior Program the most fun and exciting program in the North Suburbs.

PGA Junior League Instructional Programs

The PGA Junior League is a national movement to introduce junior golfers to competitive golf in a team setting. In 2016, over 18,000 junior golfers from clubs all over the country competed in leagues. The league is set up in a similar fashion to AAU and little league baseball. Teams compete in local leagues against local clubs in a six week regular season. A select few were able to advance to the regional all-star matches at the end of the season.

PGA Junior League Golf brings a "Little League" atmosphere to the game of golf. With teams made up of boys and girls age 13 & under, the league provides a structured team environment for young golfers to compete, learn and have fun playing the game of golf. We believe this is the best way to get kids involved and keep them involved in the game.

Due the success of this program, the Kemper Lakes Professional Staff has decided to use the PGA Junior League as a model for our instructional programs. Under this umbrella, we will introduce fundamentals of the game, while maintaining an enjoyable and fun group atmosphere.

PGA Junior League “Spring Training”

In this program, juniors will go through 5 instructional practices on Thursday afternoons from 4:30-6:00pm. The practices will introduce fundamentals in putting, short game and full swing, as well as introducing players to the PGA Junior League format and rules.
Beginning Saturday April 22nd at 4:00pm, the Spring Training team will compete in “house league” matches at Kemper. The 6-hole scramble matches will last until approximately 6:00pm on Saturday evenings.

PGA Junior League Summer Season

Team consists of up to 18 players that will represent Kemper Lakes Golf Club in five regular season matches agains Biltmore, Hawthorn Woods, Inverness and Royal Melbourne. Additionally, there will be weekly team practices held at Kemper Lakes on Thursday afternoons. The low-pressure competitive environment places the Juniors in a 9-Hole, two player Scramble format for each match. As the team will travel to other clubs, this will be slightly more competitive than the spring and fall leagues offered at Kemper Lakes Golf Club.

The format of the PGA Junior League is similar to that of AAU Basketball in that teams have the opportunity to make their way through regional, state and national levels of competition.
